The Epic Adventure begins: Welcome everyone!

Thanks for visiting our blog!!! This will be our way to share with you our endeavors in Churchill MB.

We arrived three days ago to winter! Hudson's bay is still frozen as are some of our rock pools. But it sure makes measuring easier when you can stand in them.

So far we have seen lots of birds: two harriers, and lots of geese. In the mammal department dogs, a fox and a hare.
We have bets on when we will see our first polar bear. Which may be soon because on-land tracks have already been seen! everyday we hear the ice cracking and ...its scary...because we think its a bear.

Below are a few examples on how we have been spending our days thus far: we measured a pool in relation to a standard "amanda" width

Ingrid waits for the Belugas....they'll come one day...!

Erinn chases bunny...butts....to be cont'd...

So Yah! there are lots more pictures and adventures coming your way!! so stay tuned to our lovely blog and the adventures of the Three Planktoneers!!!

    Planktoneers,

I hope you brought enough warm clothes, because I did not include hypothermia and potential dangers of frostbite on the field research safety form ;-)
